In a sure affirmation of support from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, The Mayor, Councillor Roger Gardiner and his wife, Tricia will be visiting the offices of Harmony and The PCC (Pregnancy Choices Centre) on Thursday 4 December at 10.00 am. The Open Morning will be held until 12 mid-day and anyone is welcome to visit and find out more. Seasonal refreshments will be provided.
The couple will be joined by local dignitaries and supporters to see and hear how Harmony Counselling and The PCC are working together to support those in the Basingstoke area, particularly parents, who are struggling with life’s challenges, such as child bereavement, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.
The mayoral visit will coincide with the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity, ‘Lights of Love Week’ – to mark this, guests will have the opportunity to light a tea light in memory of more than 6,500 babies that die in the UK just before, during, or soon after birth.
The team at The PCC also helps to cover a National Helpline offering advice for those facing unintended pregnancy and support following termination or other pregnancy loss.
For some women, the news that they are pregnant is the beginning of a whole roller-coaster of mixed emotions. There are many factors that come in to play, especially if a pregnancy is unintended, and it is at such times that support from Harmony and The PCC can be of valued assistance.
