Do you ever lack confidence or belief in yourself? It is a well-known fact that fear can stop us from reaching our goals. There are many reasons why fear can stand in our way and for many clients, this stems back to childhood.
The good news is, however, that it is possible to change and to conquer your disbelief! It is quite true! Think of all those negative messages in your head – are they speaking to you right now? I am not claiming that it is easy – not by a long stretch. However, ask yourself the question is it worth some effort to get where you want to be?
You don’t know where you want to be? Permit me to help you explore your options. I truly believe that deep down in your inner-most being, you do know. It is just that fairly often it is hard for us to access our thoughts and feelings. Life experiences may well interfere with that process, but honestly, over a period of time, it is not impossible.
When did you last STOP? Are you constantly running and doing things for others, putting other peoples’ needs before your own?
This can lead to becoming overwhelmed by stress and, without wanting to put too much of a dampener on your day, stress can be a killer. It is not the stress itself, but the physical symptoms it can cause, such as heart-attack, stroke, high blood pressure – the list goes on.
I will share with you a little of my story. I did not believe in myself, not one single bit! Negative voices? Well, they were NEVER positive! Then ………….
On Wednesday 18th March 2015, I gave a speech at Basingstoke Speakers Club International Speech and Evaluation Competition. The criteria was that it needed to be an inspirational speech and created by myself. I told my story about my childhood disbelief and how I took that into adulthood. Then I said about what had helped me find value, identity and self-worth.
The audience liked what I said – it obviously inspired them, and I won the competition. I can tell you, it was quite an emotional moment! I want to say to you that, if you are reading this whilst feeling awful about yourself, please take heart for things need not remain that way.
